3 Simple Personal Growth Plans For Living Your Brand

Do you have a dream life in your head?  Maybe on a vision board?  Maybe you live off different color sticky notes, and although your method looks out of sorts, it is YOUR organized chaos.  Everyone has some sort of strategy to succeed at whatever it is they are trying to accomplish.  The most important aspect of accomplishing anything, or propelling you forward into your dream life, is to develop your own personal growth plan.  Grab a piece of paper and a pen, maybe some coffee, and let’s design a road-map to get you where you’ve always dreamed. Here we discuss personal growth plans for living your brand.

What’s your purpose?  What’s your WHY?  You have to have a reason why you do what you do.  Your purpose is the reason WHY something is done, created, or for which something exists.  Your purpose is to find opportunities to live out your values by “Living Your Brand.”  Living your Brand simply means that if you value honesty yet lie to everyone then you are not living your brand.  You are the CEO of your life, and “Living Your Brand” is the main focal point of your personal growth plan.

Develop an Attitude of Gratitude

Gratitude is a sense of wonder, thankfulness, and appreciation for life.  We tend to focus on the things that went wrong rather than what went right.  How can you ever grow in that type of mentality?  Some people naturally focus on the disappointments.  Gratitude helps shift the focus from negative events to the positive.  Appreciating things in your life and focusing on the positive helps adjust that focus.  We do this by Counting Blessings.  Three times a day write down what you are thankful for that day.  After 66 days, this exercise will become habit.  Did you accomplish a goal?  Find money in a pair of shorts?  Get a raise?  Identify three things in the past 24 hours that went well.

Define Your Values

What qualities do you want to exhibit as a person?  What do you want to be known for?  Values are our core beliefs about what is most important to us.  If you’re ever curious what someone values check their bank account and their calendar.  Time and money are the two hottest commodities in a person’s life.  The key is to set goals based on values; values are where you want to be in life, goals are the accomplishments along the way.  Here’s how this looks:  Reflect on your values and create goals that will help you live those values.  This is truly “Living our Brand.”   Pick a goal you are striving for.  Then set sub goals that provide structure.  What can you do now, soon, and later to achieve your goal?  What are you doing today and tomorrow?  What are you doing in the next few weeks?  The next few months?  Put pen to paper and set daily, weekly, and monthly sub goals in order to achieve the big goal.  Set weekly check-ins to ensure you’re hitting the mark each week.

Build a Board of Directors

Every major company has a board that has board meetings to talk about the growth of the company.  If you are the CEO of your life why are you not building out a Board of Directors for your life?  Your board are people and ideas that influence you and form your world-view.  There are a few different areas of your life that the board controls, but we’ll save that for the future.  Put the right people in place that will propel you into a 10X life.
